A Proposal, Puppy & Holy Matrimony

BILLINGS, Mont. – I know, I know. It’s been months since I’ve posted a darn thing to this site. You’re probably thinking I’m some sort of blogger slacker, right? Well, I suppose you’re technically right, but I promise I’ve been one busy gal! Let me bring you up to speed on the past 10 months.

In December, the love of my life popped the BIG question after a day of snowshoeing in Yellowstone National Park.

It was one of those days that magnify the reason for why we live in Montana. Fresh snow to tromp around in followed by a long, serene soak in the Boiling River. Add a little wine and love and you’ve got yourself one heck of a day!

Then add a ring to that situation and holy moly – that day just soared to the top of the charts.

After about an hour of relaxing in the river, Miles pulled a sparkly diamond ring from beneath the water and asked me to marry him. Needless to say, “YES!” was my answer.

The next several months were consumed with wedding planning, bridal fairs, vendor coordinating, dress shopping and venue bills. Who knew a wedding was so much work?! 😉 All you brides and mother-of-the-brides are probably smiling at the thought of that special day… aaaaaand are now you’re overcome with a rush of relief knowing that it all came together and that it’s all done. Am I right?! 😉

Oh – and not to worry, the (now) hubs and I did manage to squeeze in some skiing and winter adventures, despite the barrage of wedding details.

In the blink of an eye, May rolled around and we were three months from the big day. As if wedding prep wasn’t enough to keep us busy, we decided it was the perfect time to get a PUPPY! Ok, maybe it wasn’t perfect timing… but when the right pup comes along, you just can’t say “no.”

Mr. Polson (a silver lab) joined our little family on May 31st and he has filled our lives with love, laughter and exhaustion ever since. Dogs definitely change your lifestyle and schedule, but their personalities and unconditional love make it hard to imagine life without them. Plus, he made quite the ring bearer for our wedding. Yep, that’s right. We had a 4-month-old puppy in our wedding. And he was adorable. 🙂

August 16, 2014: Our Wedding Day!!! We made it!!! I will take this opportunity to say that our wedding never would have been as awesome as it was without our amazingly generous friends and family. Whether it was their time, muscles or moolah they offered… we are so fortunate and beyond grateful for the wonderful people we have in our lives. So, from the bottom of our hearts, we THANK YOU. Our garden ceremony and downtown reception were simply perfect and perfectly us. And we had soooo much fun dancing the night away!

I’m so excited to take you along on this next chapter in my life, which is bound to be filled with new adventures and exciting tales.
