Falling in love with The Flathead

Flathead River – Kalispell, MT

Kalispell, Mont. – Say the word “Flathead,” and most Montanans think of the stunning and pristine waters of Flathead Lake or the infamous and delicious Flathead cherries. But after spending some time on the Flathead River, I’ve become of big fan of that “Flathead” as well.

With its headwaters in the Canadian Rockies, the Flathead River flows south through Glacier National Park and the Flathead Valley – including Flathead Lake – before heading west and connecting with the Clark Fork River in Paradise, Montana.
